The journey from Chemistry to Strategic Design
Yes, I started out as a Chemist and the curiosity that lead me to experiment between test tubes and beakers is the same curiosity that drives me know.
While in school I realized I am a people person and that being in a lab all day was not going to satisfy me. I then started a minor in Business Administration and realized that was more towards the path I wanted to follow.
As I continued my studies and did an MBA I was drawn more towards marketing and studying how people operate. I had a quick detour that got me in to teaching, but that story is for some other day.
My next career move was to work in Market Research. For many years I unveiled insights and opportunities for companies such as Unilever, L’oreal and Nestle. I enjoyed finding sense in data, but, I was still looking for the right path for me.
I wanted more, I wanted to create with a purpose.
This is when I learned about Strategic Design and completely fell head over feet with it.
I've been training in Madrid for a year now learning different design methodologies by doing. While completing a Masters in Strategic Design and Innovation I've had the opportunity to co-create with real clients generating human centered solutions.
The different hats I've worn during my carrier have taught me how to walk in different shoes. These experiences have shown me to be empathic and humble, traits I greatly appreciate as a designer.
This journey is not over yet, so please, stay tuned!
